mission

Our mission is to work with our community, the FWPD, churches, and schools to ensure that our children grow up not only to be successful financially, but mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically, as well. Through our initiatives, we're determined to bring the "village" back to the Stop Six  community. By providing a safe spaces for children, partnering with neighboring businesses/organizations to bring opportunities to the community, and caring for those who are often neglected by the system, we're investing in our future to ensure that our community is one where everyone is proud to call home. Safe in the Six is devoted to improving the overall environment of the StopSix and surrounding communities.

vision
Our story

Vision given by God to Teena James, Safe in the Six is a 501(c)(3) organization created with the community in mind. In the past, Stop Six had been a close-knit community where the saying, 'It takes a village to raise a child," which was how the community lived. As a thriving community, there was an abundance of investments in the community for those of us who called it home. Neighbors looked after one another's children to ensure they stayed on the path to success, while also ensuring that it was an environment that encouraged professional and personal growth in a healthy community. Unfortunately, as the community grew and changed, the community's mindset changed as well. Suddenly, the community began to feel neglected with a sudden increase in crime, lack of development, broken families and no adequate education provided throughout our education system which has since then failed our children and community, and a  decrease in community resources. That's when Safe in the Six decided to step in.
